The roller shutter comprises of a curtain, made up of individual interlocking laths, which runs vertically between guides fitted to the sides of the opening. The curtain retracts into a full enclosure mounted above the guides. The unit is self-locking with a choice of manual or electric operation. When fully lowered, shutters are locked within their guides. Vision profile and vented light slots may be incorporated.
